When the National Post coined fashion and interior stylist Janette Ewen the Hunter S Thompson of design she knew she was on the right track. From her start as an MTV (USA) stylist to her successful career as a leading editor of design and lifestyle publications in Canada (House and Home, The Globe and Mail, Chatelaine and Chocolat), Janette has continually sought to push the boundaries of design, forcing readers and viewers to focus on experience and historical reference rather than copy existing design trends. It was this rebelliousness that enticed celebrity designer Ty Pennington to ask Janette to co- host his latest TV show Inside the Box (airing in the UK, Brazil, Argentina, Switzerland, Sweden, Russia, Canada and Australia). As a TV favorite Janette can been seen regularly on national shows in Canada including Cityline and Canada AM as well as a design expert on The Decorating Adventures of Ambrose Price (VH1) and a judge on the HGTV series From the Ground Up (starring Debbie Travis)
Janette's personal mantra "stay interested, be interesting" guides her exciting life--full of travel, experience and creation. This experience has led Janette's adventures and passion for style and good taste to be featured in and on the LA Times, Nylon Magazine, In Style Magazine and Entertainment Tonight. As a partner at Parker Barrow Design studio Janette is "over the moon" to be designing and creating spaces and products that would find a happy home in her fast-paced, whimsical life. In her spare time Janette loves shopping online, rally car racing and hiking throughout North America.
Janette shares her time between Los Angeles and Toronto.
